System Administrator
Description
Mahlet is seeking an experienced, passionate, and talented systems administrator who has a genuine excitement for and interest in supporting critical components of our IT environment. Provide day-to-day technical support for network infrastructure, desktop systems, server installations, and more. Interact with multiple business, engineering, and analysis groups daily, and be an integral part of Mahlet’s success.
Responsibilities
- CMMC/NIST 800-171 Security Standards and Compliance
- Server Setup, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting
- Desktop and User Support
- Hardware/Software Updates/Upgrades
- Network Setup, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting
- Internal Services Setup, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or IT-related degree
- Hardware/Software installation and maintenance experience
- Experience with Linux Containers and running services in Containers (Podman, Docker)
- Strong understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, managed switches)
- Experience with desktop troubleshooting and help desk support
- Strong communication skills
- U.S. Citizenship
Desired Technical Background
- Strong understanding of all aspects of Linux System Administration
- Linux System Maintenance (Red Hat, CentOS, Rocky, Alma, Fedora)
- Scripting (python) and Automation (Ansible)
- Firewall Administration
- Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Office 365)

Software Engineer
Description
This position opening is for a full-time Software Engineer. An engineer in this role will be expected to tackle challenging design problems and drive development to completed solutions. Enthusiasm, self-motivation, and creativity are musts. Software engineers are expected to solve problems and complete tasks without heavy oversight, and identify & solve new design challenges in a self-motivated fashion. The primary responsibility of this position is the design, development, and maintenance of a unique cybersecurity product designed for high speed optical signals.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality code
- Collaborate with engineers across our tech stack
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Ensure the best possible performance and quality of products
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues
- Help maintain code quality, test coverage, and functionality
Recommended Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 1 year of professional experience in software engineering/computer programming
- Proficiency in version control tools, e.g. Git
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, TypeScript, or Rust
- Experience working with APIs, libraries, and frameworks such as FastAPI, React, MongoDB, numpy, pyo3, or pytest
- Exposure to operating in a Linux development environment
- Familiarity with software testing best practices
- Experience with embedded programming, firmware development, or hardware drivers
- Ability to derive project requirements from technical documents and protocols
- Experience working with networking protocols is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills

FPGA Design Engineer
Description
This position opening is for a full-time Firmware Design Engineer. An engineer in this role will be expected to tackle challenging design problems and drive development to completed solutions. Enthusiasm, self-motivation, and creativity are musts. Design engineers are expected to solve problems and complete tasks without heavy oversight, and identify & solve new design challenges in a self-motivated fashion. The primary responsibility of this position is the design, development, and maintenance of a FPGA design for optical signal analysis and processing.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of digital communication fundamentals.
- Knowledge of signal processing fundamentals.
- Experienced with software development on Linux-based operating systems.
- Solid programming ability with C / C++.
- Familiarity with current technology FPGA platforms and development tools.
Recommended Experience
- Familiar with digital communications.
- Knowledge of FPGAs / VHDL/Verilog.
- Experience with telecommunication protocols and implementations.
- Prior work with DSP or communications systems.
- Master’s Degree or previous professional experience.
- Familiarity with electronics fundamentals.
